Description[]
Grues are quite individual, varying significantly from being to being, but share a general form which is… physically not very intimidating at first glance; standing on average not much more than 4 feet tall, they appear as hunched, shaggy figures, who are predominantly torso with spindly arms and legs featuring large, knobbly joints, and no distinct head. Their hands have only 4 fingers arranged in pairs opposite each other like a fleshy pincer, while their feet similarly have 4 toes in a similar arrangement, like a mutated bird-foot; two splayed forwards and a shorter pair at the back.
Despite this appearance however, they are incredibly fast, flexible (most of their joints have a very large range of movement) and deceptively strong for their fragile appearance. The eyes and mouth, when they can be seen peeking out from their hairy torsos are disproportionately large, the mouth itself capable of enveloping something half the Grue’s size. All of their digits are tipped with hard, and pointy (though relatively dull) claws, and have a high grip strength, sufficient to hold creatures over twice their size. Being covered in black, shaggy fur (and often an aura of miasma) they have no need for clothing, though they will sometimes have crude belts to carry tools.

The grues are savages whose only purpose is to serve Urgu and help him to spread darkness and destroy light. They are fanatical in their devotion.
